Why are you keeping quiet? :) If you post constructive replies and some other people just post flames, the guy is going to read both. If he has any experience of internet forums he will just ignore the flamers and concentrate on getting an answer to his question. So dont be quiet. Post things and contribute. Silence doesnt help anyone but the flamers.
Im probably not always constructive, but im never abusive. Works for me. :)

I agree with this actually. The crap about darwanism and stuff like that is just so people can pat themselfs on the back feeling superior to someone else. But these games are basicly designed to make people feel good about themselfs because their characters have good gear etc, so I dont think it will change anytime soon.
But when I think about it, humans are pretty strange... :)

If you want to make General Discussion a nicer place, then post things. Make good posts, or funny posts. Its as simple as that. Ignore the people that post crap, and make good posts on your own. The threads will then have both good and bad replies in them, instead of mostly bad. End result is a nicer forum.

The biggest problem with EVE is that there is no "Consentual PvP" server to play on and until someone creates an EVE clone that has one (or CCP grows larger and decides to start making money hand over fist by implementing one) we are all stuck in the same "sandbox". Sure I could go play WoW but last time I logged on there was no way to build a spaceship. Unfortunately fantasy MMO's just don't really interest me much...
Eve needs everybody. If you remove everybody who likes to build spaceships, weapons and other items, then the pirates will be fighting eachother with sticks and stones. We need the carebears. Even the mission runners contribute by selling implants on the market to the rest of Eve.
And the carebears needs pirates to buy their stuff. Non-consensual pvp is what makes the market tick.
